Jay Black 2015 | Queen Elizabeth Park

Had a wonderfully educational day of shooting with Jay Black in Queen Elizabeth Park last week!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.

Manifesting Isis;

Egyptian Goddess of Health, Marriage and Wisdom.
Protector of the Dead, and Goddess of Children.

"Isis was worshiped as the ideal mother and wife, as well as the patroness of nature and magic. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans and the downtrodden, but she also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats and rulers." (source)

Isis was an important representation of the Pharoh's power.
Her name means 'Throne', and the pharaoh was depicted as her child who sat on the throne that she provided.

Sitting on the 'Throne of Isis' situated in front of the fountain at Queen Elizabeth Park outside of the Bloedel Conservatory.

Isis was said to be the sister of Osiris, whom she also married. Together they conceived Horus, who is easiest recognized by his falcon head. Set, Osiris and Isis' envious brother, mutilated Osiris and cut his soul into 14 pieces.

I'm learning a bit at a time. I'll add information to this post as I go.
